Information You Send
If a visitor types a name, phone number, or address into a sponsored search widget, that submission goes to the third-party provider that operates the results. Simi Valley Residents Directory does not keep a copy of the query. A message sent to the contact address contains whatever the writer chooses to include and is used to respond or address the question.
Routine Technical Logs
Hosting services may record an IP address, browser or device type, pages requested, referring page, and time. Aggregate log data helps keep the reference available and shows which resources are useful. Cookies or similar tools may be used for basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled.
How Limited Data Is Used
Information is used to operate the pages, answer messages, diagnose faults, measure traffic, and improve the reference. Visitor lists are not sold, and the reference does not intentionally build a personal profile of an individual reader from public-record searches.
External Portals and Links
Pages link to Ventura County assessor, recorder, elections, tax, and court services, California portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored tools. Each outside service has its own privacy statement and controls. A submission made at a county, state, library, or commercial provider is governed by that provider’s policies, not this one.
Who Processes Technical Data
Hosting and support vendors can process the technical logs needed to deliver the pages. Analytics or advertising vendors may receive the automatic information described above. Information may also be disclosed when a valid legal process requires it. No other disclosure is intended.
Security and Retention
The reference is served over an encrypted connection where available. Technical logs are retained only as long as the operational, security, measurement, or legal purpose requires. There are no reader accounts here, so the service does not maintain a password database or user profile.
Readers Under 18
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor sends information to the contact address, a parent or guardian may ask that it be removed from the mailbox and any related working record.
California Privacy Choices
California’s Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code sections 1798.100 and following, can provide rights to know or access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, subject to its limits. California’s DELETE Act, Civil Code sections 1798.99.80 and following, created the DROP process for one request to registered data brokers. These rights concern data held by the covered business or broker. They do not erase an accurate deed, court file, voter record, vital record, or assessor record held by a public custodian.
Because the reference keeps little direct user data, a request normally means searching the contact mailbox and relevant technical records. Send a request through the Contact page. For a public record, ask the Ventura County, Simi Valley, California, or court custodian that created or maintains it. Safe at Home participants should use the Secretary of State program rather than publish a protected address.
Policy Changes
Changes will be posted here with a new effective date when appropriate. Continued use after a revision means the revised policy applies to future use of the reference.
